One rumor is all it takes to turn Olive (Emma Stone), a girl nobody at her high school notices, into the person everyone is talking about. Will Gluck follows her as she leans into the gossip to move up the social ladder, while her classmates close ranks and the school board starts asking questions. Her parents stay cheerfully on her side, and Olive walks the halls in the letter she has stitched across her chest.
