“No cheating! No gambling! No booze! No smoking! No pizza! No nothin'!”

In 1983, Monty Capuletti (Rodney Dangerfield) photographs babies for a living and spends the rest of his hours drinking and gambling. When his snobbish mother-in-law dies in a plane crash, the family fortune comes with a condition: he has to give up his vices for a full year. James Signorelli sets Monty against the quiet of a sober house, Mrs. Monahan's old portrait still hanging above him.
