Edward and Caroline

(1951)Directed by Jacques Becker88 minComedy, Romance

Edouard (Daniel Gélin) wants one thing from the evening: to get through an important party with his wife beside him and nothing going wrong. Then a quarrel over Caroline's (Anne Vernon) dress sets off a string of domestic squabbles, all of it shot by Jacques Becker on sets built at the Billancourt Studios in Paris. The two newlyweds keep arguing in their own rooms, yet each is still waiting for the other to give way.
