Eerie Tales

(1919)Directed by Richard Oswald101 minFantasy, Horror, Mystery

In a book of gothic stories, the figures of a demon, a reaper and the ghost of a prostitute come to life, and they begin acting out the tales themselves. Richard Oswald splits the 1919 film into five segments, among them "The Black Cat" and "The Suicide Club," with Conrad Veidt, Reinhold Schünzel and Anita Berber each taking on several roles. Every story puts another victim in the path of these three, and none of the victims knows what is already reading them.
