El Cantante

“Based on the true story of the King of Salsa, Hector Lavoe”

Héctor Lavoe (Marc Anthony) is a young singer from Puerto Rico who arrives in New York in the 1960s and becomes the voice of the salsa boom. We see him through Puchi (Jennifer Lopez), the wife who married him and who looks back on their years together from 2002. Leon Ichaso builds the story from her memory, and the question left hanging is what Héctor owed the music and what it took from him.
