El crack

Germán Areta, known as El Piojo (Alfredo Landa), is a private detective in Madrid in December 1980 who takes whatever work comes through the door. The latest is from a dying man who wants to see his runaway daughter once before the end. José Luis Garci, who dedicates the film to Dashiell Hammett, sends Areta from the grimy streets of Madrid toward New York, a man who works alone and is paid by the day.
