El Planeta

In post-crisis Spain, a mother and daughter sit in a freezing apartment, an eviction notice hanging over them and the power barely on. María (Ale Ulman) and Leonor (Amalia Ulman) bluff and grift to keep up the lifestyle they believe they deserve, and the two of them are bound by the same tragedy. Amalia Ulman, who also wrote the film, plays the whole thing deadpan and lets the absurdity do the work.
