Electra

Why does a murdered king's death still hold a household in its grip? Elektra (Irene Papas) has been married off to a poor farmer (Notis Peryalis), kept far from the palace where her mother Klytaemnistra (Aleka Katselli) rules beside the man who took the throne. Mihalis Kakogiannis, billed as Michael Cacoyannis, adapts Euripides, and Elektra waits for her exiled brother Orestis (Giannis Fertis) to come home.
