Elegant Beast

Yukie Mitani (Ayako Wakao) wants her family to keep living well on money that was never theirs, and she is willing to scheme to protect it. Her son has embezzled, so the household sets about covering his tracks while their other schemes keep running. Yūzō Kawashima treats this as satire and lets the family's chatter and calculation fill the screen.
