Elis

Elis Regina (Andréia Horta) steps off the bus in Rio de Janeiro at nineteen, a singer with a huge voice and nothing else yet. Hugo Prata follows her through the clubs and recording studios, where Ronaldo Bôscoli (Gustavo Machado) and later César Camargo Mariano (Caco Ciocler) come into her life. Horta stands at the microphone, mouth wide, the whole body leaning into the song.
