Elvis

“The King lives on!”

A made-for-television biography that starts with a poor childhood and follows Elvis Presley (Kurt Russell) up through his rise to stardom and his Las Vegas years. John Carpenter directs, in the first of the films he and Russell would make together. Through it all Elvis stays close to his mother, Gladys (Shelley Winters), and to his father, Vernon (Bing Russell).
