Embodiment of Evil

“The return of the master of horror”

Why does a man who spent forty years in the Mental Health Wing of the São Paulo State Penitentiary go straight back to his old work? Zé do Caixão (José Mojica Marins), the undertaker, is free again and still hunting for a woman who can give him the perfect child. José Mojica Marins directs and stars, and the closing picture is Zé himself, thin and pale in his black cape, the long fingernails curling from his hand.
