Emma

“Cupid is armed and dangerous!”

Emma Woodhouse (Gwyneth Paltrow) is young, rich and sure she has a gift for matching people, so she takes Harriet Smith (Toni Collette) in hand and picks out a husband for her. Douglas McGrath sets the matchmaking among country houses and long dinners, with Mr. Knightley (Jeremy Northam) the one who keeps telling her she's wrong. Emma is arranging everyone else's hearts with great confidence, and she hasn't looked at her own.
