Encounter

“When you stand by each other, you can get through anything.”

Malik Khan (Riz Ahmed), a decorated Marine, wants to reach his two young sons, Jay (Lucian-River Chauhan) and Bobby (Aditya Geddada), before an unhuman threat does. Michael Pearce follows the three of them out onto roads that grow more dangerous the farther they travel. Somewhere along the way the boys have to give up being children, and the film treats that as a loss as real as any the danger might cause.
