A strange change comes over Chitti after the lightning strike: the robot Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth) built in his own image starts to feel. The scientific body AIRD had already turned the machine down for lacking human behaviour, and now it wants Sana (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan), the scientist's fiancée. Shankar's film puts emotion at the center of what a machine is missing, and the wanting it brings is the part no one planned for.
