Envy

“Success didn’t go to his head, it went to his neighbor.”

Tim Dingman (Ben Stiller) watches his best friend and neighbor Nick Vanderpark (Jack Black) get rich off an invention, while Tim's own days stay exactly as they were. Barry Levinson follows the resentment as it grows, with Christopher Walken as J-Man, a stranger who turns up with advice. Tim stands in his own yard looking over at Nick's house, jaw tight, and the fence between them stays where it is.
