“In a future where freedom is outlawed, outlaws will become heroes.”

John Preston (Christian Bale) is a top enforcement officer in a future where every citizen takes a daily dose of a drug that suppresses feeling, and he spends his days hunting down anyone caught without it. Then he misses a dose by accident, and Kurt Wimmer follows what slowly comes back to him. The state buys its peace by making grief, love and anger a crime punishable by death.
