U.S. Marshal John Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger), known only as the Eraser, moves witnesses out of danger by wiping their names and histories clean. His new assignment is Lee (Vanessa Williams), a defense contractor employee whose discovery of a conspiracy puts her in the sights of powerful people. Chuck Russell sets Kruger between her and her hunters, and the job comes down to how long a person can stay invisible when the people looking are on the inside.
