Three directors each take one story about desire. In Wong Kar-wai's segment, Xiao Zhang (Chang Chen), a young tailor in 1960s Hong Kong, is sent to fit Miss Hua (Gong Li), a call girl who can afford any man she wants. Soderbergh puts an advertising executive on a psychiatrist's couch, and Antonioni sets a menage-a-trois on the Tuscan coast, each filmed in the language of its country.
