Hitomi Kanzaki (Maaya Sakamoto) is pulled out of her own world into Gaea, a land ruled by swords and sorcery where she has no idea why she was brought. There she meets the young Prince Van (Tomokazu Seki), who is already fighting the Black Dragon Clan over Escaflowne, a legendary suit of dragon armor. Kazuki Akane's film puts a girl who does not understand the war into the middle of it, with the armor at stake.
