Escape from Alcatraz

“No one has ever escaped from Alcatraz… and no one ever will!”

Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood), a lifer at Alcatraz Island, sees a way out where others see only concrete and water. He recruits the Anglin brothers and enlists Doc (Roberts Blossom) to help dig through the prison's rotting walls, one painstaking night at a time. Don Siegel builds the escape as a sequence of small, careful moves until the three men slip into the fog.
