“The Story of a Father’s Love That Changed a Nation.”

Desmond Doyle (Pierce Brosnan) wants his three children back, and he wants them back in his own house. His wife left on the day after Christmas, and with Desmond out of work and no woman at home, the Church and the Irish courts place Evelyn, Dermot and Maurice in separate orphanages. Bruce Beresford follows him into a courtroom, where Desmond stands before Senior Counsel Mr. Wolfe (John Lynch) and the state itself.
