Even Angels Eat Beans

“Al Capone... Get lost! Dillinger... Phooey on you! Here come the funniest crooks since crime began!”

Sonny (Giuliano Gemma) is a small-time hustler and Charlie Smith (Bud Spencer) a heavyset drifter, two mismatched buddies getting by in Depression-era America. Enzo Barboni sends them into a mob war when the local gangsters take them for enforcers, which is not a job either one applied for. Hunger, bluff and a shared plate of beans keep them together, and the film treats friendship as the one thing worth keeping.
