Every Man for Himself

(1980)Directed by Jean-Luc Godard88 minDrama

In Switzerland in 1980, three people move through the same stretch of days without quite sharing them. Paul Godard (Jacques Dutronc) is a television director, Denise Rimbaud (Nathalie Baye) is the ex-girlfriend who has left him, and Isabelle Rivière (Isabelle Huppert) sells sex to strangers in hotel rooms. Jean-Luc Godard follows each of them through work and bed, and what hangs over all three is whether any of them can earn a living without being used up by it.
