Every Time We Say Goodbye

David (Tom Hanks), an American pilot in the Royal Air Force, is stationed in Jerusalem during the Second World War and falls for Sarah (Cristina Marsillach), a young woman from a Sephardic Jewish family. Her relatives are not pleased, and he is a Protestant, a stranger to their traditions. Moshé Mizrahi keeps the camera close on the two of them, in kitchens and streets, as the families around them pull in opposite directions.
