Everybody's Fine

“A story of family love... and family secrets.”

Matteo Scuro (Marcello Mastroianni) is a retired Sicilian bureaucrat and a widower, living alone while his five grown children work responsible jobs on the mainland. Giuseppe Tornatore sends him north by train to surprise each of them with a visit, and he finds none of the lives he pictured from home. Matteo arrives at each door expecting a father's welcome, and what he gets back is a family that has learned to talk around him.
