“A family torn apart. A public filled with outrage. A woman accused of murder.”

Lindy Chamberlain (Meryl Streep) wants one thing after her baby daughter vanishes from a tent near Ayers Rock in 1980: for people to believe what she saw, a dingo carrying Azaria away. Fred Schepisi follows her through two inquests and a murder charge, as a public that has already made up its mind turns on her. Beside her stands her husband Michael (Sam Neill), a pastor, and the two of them hold to each other while everyone else looks for a reason to doubt them.
