Excalibur

(1981)Directed by John Boorman141 min · RAdventure, Fantasy
“Forged by a god. Foretold by a wizard. Found by a king.”

Arthur (Nigel Terry) pulls a sword from the stone and sets out to bring the knights of Britain together at Camelot, with the wizard Merlin (Nicol Williamson) guiding him. John Boorman fills the film with armor, mist and the music of Wagner and Orff, and the knights gather around the Round Table. Arthur wants a united country, and he is a flawed king who must reckon with love, the Grail, and what keeping a kingdom will ask of him.
