Excess Baggage

“A crash course in kidnappings, car thefts and other rituals of dating.”

In 1997, Emily (Alicia Silverstone) is a rich, neglected heiress who locks herself in the trunk of a car and stages her own kidnapping to get her father's attention. Then a car thief, Vincent (Benicio del Toro), drives off with the car, and her prank has her riding along to wherever he goes. Marco Brambilla's film puts her inside a real crime, and the man she is hiding from may be her father's idea of a ransom note.
