Exiled

“Leaving it all behind...”

In Macau, shortly before the 1999 handover, a former gangster named Wo (Nick Cheung Ka-fai) comes home to the city he fled, and two pairs of men in the same trade arrive at his door: one sent to kill him, the other to keep him alive. Johnnie To has them face off in a doorway, then sit down together at a table. These are men who have shared years and a trade, and none of them can easily raise a gun at the others.
