A team of soldiers arrives in a Texas border town for a job that appears in no official record, and Major Paul Hackett (Michael Ironside) will say nothing about who sent them. Sheriff Jack Benteen (Nick Nolte) watches them move in while his old friend Cash Bailey (Powers Boothe), now a drug kingpin across the line, waits on the other side.
