“When fear made her a victim, she turned fear into a weapon.”

In 1986 America, Marjorie (Farrah Fawcett) gets away from a man who attacked her in her own car, but she leaves her purse behind. The police can do nothing without proof, and he uses her address to find her apartment, where she sprays him in the face with insect repellent and keeps him there. Robert M. Young directs this adaptation of William Mastrosimone's play, and the question it puts plainly is what a person owes the law when the law has nothing to give her.
