Eyes Without a Face
“The horror film with a heart of mystery.”
In 1960 France, the surgeon Professor Génessier (Pierre Brasseur) lives in a mansion outside Paris, where outsiders believe his daughter Christiane (Édith Scob) died in a car accident he caused. In fact she is alive in the house, her face ruined, while Génessier and his assistant Louise (Alida Valli) bring in kidnapped young women for his operations. Georges Franju keeps Christiane in a pale expressionless mask, her white gown moving down the long mansion corridors.
