Face to Face

“Facing death... a vigilante against an avenger.”

Professor Brett Fletcher (Gian Maria Volonté) is a history teacher who goes west for his health and ends up riding with the outlaw gang of Solomon Bennet (Tomas Milian). The man who spent his life reading about violence now watches it up close, and it holds his attention. Sergio Sollima follows the professor as he starts giving orders, and what the film shows is how fast a quiet man's mind can reorganize itself around cruelty.
