“One Moment Can Change A Lifetime”

An old writer named Bergman (Erland Josephson) sits alone and summons Marianne (Lena Endre), a woman he has invented, to tell him how her marriage to the musician Markus (Thomas Hanzon) ended. Liv Ullmann directs Bergman's script, which draws on his own experience of adultery. Marianne, an actress, has left for her lover David (Krister Henriksson), and the old man waits at his desk.
