Family Resemblances

Henri Ménard (Jean-Pierre Bacri) runs a bar and expects the family to gather every Friday, and tonight they meet at his restaurant to mark his brother's birthday. Cédric Klapisch keeps the whole film around one table, where the mother (Claire Maurier) fusses over her son while Betty (Agnès Jaoui) is left to swallow her irritation. Old grudges come up between the courses, and Henri keeps insisting the evening is going fine.
