Family Romance, LLC

“Followers, friends, family. All available for hire.”

Yuichi Ishii (Yuichi Ishii) runs Family Romance, a company that rents out stand-ins for any occasion, and he plays the parts himself. A mother hires him to pose as the missing father of twelve-year-old Mahiro (Mahiro Tanimoto), and he begins meeting the girl as though he had always belonged in her life. Werner Herzog follows a man whose job is to be believed, and who has to decide how much of himself to hold back.
