Fandango

“In every living species there is a stage of growth between infancy and adulthood... In most animals, it occurs during the first year of life... In humans, it happens right after college.”

In 1971, five University of Texas buddies pile into a car and head for the Mexican border, one last trip before graduation sends them toward Vietnam and whatever else is waiting. Gardner Barnes (Kevin Costner) and Phil Hicks (Judd Nelson) are in the group, with Kenneth Waggener (Sam Robards) among those headed for an uncertain future. Kevin Reynolds expanded this from his USC student film, and he lets the trip wander like a long afternoon.
