Fando and Lis

Fando (Sergio Kleiner) wants to reach Tar, a mythical city said to be a kind of heaven, and he sets out to find it with Lis (Diana Mariscal), his lover, who is partially paralysed. Alejandro Jodorowsky, in his first feature, adapts a play by Fernando Arrabal and shoots it in high-contrast black and white on weekends with almost no money. Fando pulls Lis along beside him, and the pale ground and dark sky of that harsh film stock close around them.
