Bathsheba Everdene (Julie Christie) inherits a large farm, and no one in the district can quite say what a young, willful woman will do with it. Three very different men come courting: Gabriel Oak (Alan Bates), William Boldwood (Peter Finch) and Sgt. Troy (Terence Stamp).
