Farewell to the Night

Muriel (Catherine Deneuve) manages a horse farm and has been looking forward to the few days her grandson Alex (Kacey Mottet Klein) will spend with her before he leaves for a job in Canada. Then she starts noticing changes in how he acts, small ones at first, and her curiosity pulls her toward a secret he has kept from her. André Téchiné builds the film on the bond between a grandmother and the boy she adores.
