Farinelli
“Where does the power of his voice end?”
Carlo Broschi (Stefano Dionisi) steps onto the stage in eighteenth-century Europe and sings, and audiences cannot get enough of the voice that made him Farinelli, the most celebrated castrato of his day. His brother Riccardo (Enrico Lo Verso) writes the music he performs, and Gérard Corbiau stages their partnership against the rival pull of George Frideric Handel (Jeroen Krabbé). The film is about what a gift like that takes from the person who carries it.
