In 1980s London, Yorùbá parents hand their young son Enitan (Damson Idris) to a white working-class family, hoping the arrangement will give him a better life. He grows up in the house of Ingrid Carpenter (Kate Beckinsale), and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje draws the story from his own childhood. What Enitan wants most is to belong, and he goes looking for it in a white skinhead gang, where the price of being let in is becoming someone he was never meant to be.
