“Get the fifth gear.”

Nobody explains why a former cop and the convict he helped bust out of custody are still running together, but Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) and Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) have crossed one border after another and now sit cornered in Rio de Janeiro. A corrupt businessman's $100 million is the one job that could buy their freedom. Justin Lin treats the crew as a family, and the film keeps asking what people will risk for the ones they chose.
