Fast Times at Ridgemont High

“At Ridgemont High, only the rules get busted!”

Stacy Hamilton (Jennifer Jason Leigh), a freshman at a Southern California high school, wants to be someone who has already figured out love, and she asks her older friend Linda (Phoebe Cates) how it's done. Spicoli (Sean Penn) drifts through class on his own schedule. Amy Heckerling follows them through hallways and part-time jobs, and the film settles on the pull between Stacy and Mark "Rat" Ratner (Brian Backer), the nervous boy who likes her.
