Father Brown

(1954)Directed by Robert Hamer91 minComedy, Mystery, Crime
“An open and shut case of Guinness! Up to his EARS in chaos... Up to his NECK in laughs”

Works of art are vanishing from collections one by one, taken by a thief who changes his face as easily as his coat. Father Brown (Alec Guinness), a quiet parish priest, sets out to catch him and, more stubbornly, to save his soul. Robert Hamer sends him after Gustave Flambeau (Peter Finch) with little more than an umbrella and a brown paper parcel.
