Father Goose

(1964)Directed by Ralph Nelson118 minAdventure, Comedy, Romance
“They're sharing a South Sea island with 7 little chaperones...and the Pacific as their battleground!”

Walter Eckland (Cary Grant) is a South Sea beachcomber who wants only to be left alone with his boat and his bottle. Then Commander Houghton (Trevor Howard) talks him into watching the skies for enemy planes during the war, under the code name Mother Goose. Ralph Nelson films it in warm Technicolor, and the island fills up with a schoolteacher, Catherine Freneau (Leslie Caron), and the children she brings.
