Father Mother Sister Brother

Jim Jarmusch sets three stories in three countries, each one about a family that has drifted apart. Grown children visit distant parents: Jeff (Adam Driver) and Emily (Mayim Bialik) call on their Father (Tom Waits), and Timothea (Cate Blanchett) sits down with her Mother (Charlotte Rampling). The parents hold back and the siblings circle each other, and the film keeps asking what still ties these people together.
