“Just when his world is back to normal... he's in for the surprise of his life!”

The Banks family house is quiet again, and George (Steve Martin) has started planning to sell it now that the wedding is behind him. Then two announcements arrive close together: his daughter Annie (Kimberly Williams-Paisley) is expecting, and so is his wife Nina (Diane Keaton). Charles Shyer keeps the camera in the Banks kitchen and living room, with Martin Short's Franck Eggelhoffer fussing around the edges of the family's plans.
