Father Stu

“God wanted a fighter… and He found one.”

Stuart Long (Mark Wahlberg) is an amateur boxer whose career ends with an injury, so he moves to Los Angeles to chase money and fame and ends up stocking shelves at a supermarket. There he meets Carmen (Teresa Ruiz), a Sunday school teacher who doesn't fall for his bad-boy charm, and he starts going to church just to get close to her. Rosalind Ross follows what that does to him, and to the parents he left behind, Bill (Mel Gibson) and Kathleen (Jacki Weaver).
